Why use in home care over a kennel?
First of all your animal gets that one on one attention that it deserves. It does not have to compete with 80 other dogs and cats for attention. Second everything is included in one flat fee. There is no extra charge per walk or play session. Your animal will get plenty of attention, playtime, walks and whatever else they need. At a kennel you will be charged extra for each walk and play session, which may only last 15 minutes per session. That can add up if your animal needs a lot of walks and playtime. Third, you're using Julia's Pet Care in a home environment which will be similar to what your animal is used to. No being stuck in a cage all day, but able to run around the house and go on lots of walks and have lots of fun. At Julia's Pet Care we know you want the best so we give you and your animal the best.
Why use a pet sitter?
Using a pet sitter is beneficial in many ways. First of all you don't have to make that unnecessary trip to a kennel to drop off and pick up your animal. It also gives your home that "lived in" look while you are gone. Your pet gets to stay in its surroundings, stick to its routine and not have to worry about illness, infestation or stress from other animals. Your pet will receive that one on one attention that it so deserves and you will have peace of mind knowing that Julia's Pet Care is there for you and your pet.
What happens if my pet needs emergency care?
Julia's Pet Care will contact you and the vet that you have specified during our initial visit. If you and/or the vet is not available we will use the emergency contacts you gave us and follow any instructions we received from out initial consultation.

How do you handle pets with special needs?
Every pet has special needs in one way or another. We will make sure that having a pet sitter is the best option for you and your pet. If your pet is very ill and needs around the clock attention then it would be best to board your animal with your vet. However if your pet just needs medication and you can show us how to administer it with the least amount of stress to your animal then we will be glad to assist. Please let us know of all special needs during the initial consultation to make sure your pet remains healthy and happy when you return.

What is Reiki?
Reiki is healing energy that is transmitted through the hands, flowing from the channel to the receiver. Reiki healing energy comes from God. The person giving the healing is simply a channel, a conduit, for the energy to pass into the receiver. The channel is not working with his own energy and experiences no energy drain. Reiki can be used to treat animals and humans as well.

What should I do if my animal has a health problem?
The first step should always be to see a vet. We believe that most animals will get better faster if they also receive Reiki Energy Healing.

What does receiving Reiki feel like?
Some animals feel the Reiki going in as warmth or heat, some feel it as energy, and others feel nothing. The animal receiving the Reiki does nothing. Most then sleep quite well that night. The Reiki healing energy will stay with them all night and keep working. Most notice most of the change from a Reiki session the next morning.

What of the phenomena of heat in energy healings?
We as humans are living, dancing, vibrant holograms of light and energy (in fact light IS energy). Energy transfer causes the temperature of the substance to rise – this takes place at the molecular level. Atoms are perpetually vibrating. Those atoms then make a quantum transition from “electronically excited” to “vibrationally excited”, meaning that the energy causes the whole atom to move. We feel that motion as “heat”; hence we often feel heat when experiencing (giving or receiving) energy healing.
